offers free and easy ways for teachers to collaborate with other classrooms from around the country and the world. Skype allows "students to learn from other students, connect with other cultures, and expand their knowledge in amazing ways.

Chat with an author of a book students have studied via Skype


Collaborate with museums via Skype as part of a history project Bring a field trip into the classroom with Skype

Students can learn foreign languages from native speakers.


Invite a guest speaker to your class via Skype

This type of classroom learning was "designed to help like-minded teachers find each other and relevant projects according to search criteria such as the age groups they teach, location, and subjects of interest.

Skype must target specific educational goals and needs in order to justify the amount of class time dedicated to videoconferences. Through the use of Skype, technology can be further integrated within an educational setting to encourage learning and an eagerness to come to school.

Jurong

West Primary School in Singapore communicates via Skype with Bill Williams Elementary School in California. Both schools are able to build relationships that are not limited by geographical borders. Students participate in curriculumbased programs that foster proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
