Halloween Parade

M ATH

The 4th Grade Math Assessment will be given on Thursday, October 15th. The focus of the assessment will be on adding, subtracting, and rounding large numbers; and calculating the mode, median, and mean of sets of numbers.

R EAD ING

All reading assessments have been completed for the fall grading period. Your childs assessed just right reading level will be included on fall report cards being sent out at the end of this month.

W R ITING

The fall district writing test is this week. Were assessing students ability to write effective personal narratives. For the remainder of the month, and into November, we will be continuing to h one our personal narrative skills.

S OCIAL S TU DIES

Weve taken a brief break from Social Studies this week to focus our energies on reading, writing, and math assessments. We will be continuing our California government unit next week, continuing through the end of the month.

O THER N EWS

Just want to reiterate that fall report cards will be sent home during the week of October 29, and parent/teacher conferences will be held the week after, the week of November 5. Please return the attached sign-up forms as soon as possible to ensure that we can meet during your best available time.
