He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly,

to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him. Genesis 5:24 By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, and was not found, because God had taken him; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. Hebrews 11:5

Faithful men walking with God Noah


This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.

This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the division of Abijah. His wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth. 6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

Teach me Your way, O Lord; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name.

Disciple - learner, follower, one under the discipline of another.


Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen. Matthew 28:19,20

From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more.

No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

But Jesus called them to Himself and said, You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. 26 Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant.

I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Jesus Himself was a servant:


For who is greater, he who sits at the table, or he who serves? Is it not he who sits at the table? Yet I am among you as the One who serves. Luke 22:27 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. Matt. 20:28

If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one anothers feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. 16 Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. 17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.

And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry,

For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

God was merciful to each of us to allow us to be His servants


service to Him is not a thing to begrudge, not something to hate, rather it is something to be grateful for! Gratitude for Gods grace and mercy will be demonstrated as zeal, enthusiasm, and diligence in Gods service.

Is discipleship just another one of our many activities in life? Or is discipleship our entire way of life? When we walk with the Lord, we come to know Him
And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. John 17:3
