Writers Notebook (WNB)

What does your group notice about the WNBs format (how the WNB is organized)? WNB Format: Spiral Notebook (name on it & WNB on cover) 1. Entry # 2. Entry date 3. Highlighted Mini-Lessons Used in Entry 4. List the Mini-Lessons in margin 5. List the Genres that the entry could turn into in margin WNB Topic/Ideas: 1. Nature 2. Jellyfish b/c they went to aquarium 3. Magic Trees (Imaginary) 4. Superhero 5. Hockey 6. Water Polo 7. Gum 8. Places Visited 9. Can write about fictional things 10. Can write about real life 11. WRITE ABOUT ANYTHING 12. ***Around the classroom there are many places that can give you ideas, topics, and help for writing WNB Genres: 1. Lists 3 genres in the margin that they could turn the entry into 2. Genres can be any genre that you want as long as you can you prove that you understand what is included the in the genre 3. Think of different genres that you could turn the entry into if you had to turn it into a final draft piece of writing WNB Mini-lessons: 1. Lists 2-3 at least (minimum) mini-lessons for writing learned in class 2. The person highlights the mini-lessons that they said they would use in the entry Groups Definition for WNB: A WNB is a notebook that holds a collection for writers: the notebook includes ideas, brainstorming, minilesson strategies, genre practicethis is not a place for final drafts of writing; this is place for brainstorming & practicing writing. This is a collection of writing practice and ideas. This place where you can write about anything and you can write in many forms.
