How to set Threshold Setting and Remote Notification on the M2000(V2R11C01CP2302)

Pre-requisites: 1.Access to EMS(M2000) 2.Username and Password for EMS 3.Performance Counter Parameters for Threshold Setting 4.Remote Notification function has been enabled and working on the M2000

Overview:

In some special scenario,customers want to set up individual threshold settings on the M2000 and wants these thresholds to be set as an alarm.Once the threshold is reached,it will trigger corresponding alarms.These corresponding alarms are readily sent to them either by SMS or email through M2000 Remote Notification.This process will show an example on how to set it up on the M2000.Wimax NE version is V3R3C01SPC400 and M2000 version is V2R11C01CP2302.

1.On the M2000,click on Performance/Threshold Management/Threshold Setting.

2.On the Threshold Setting Tab,under Wimax BTS,click on Sector Carrier.Click on Add.

3.On the Add threshold pop up window,select the objects(sites),enter the threshold name,and select the Alarm Name.

4.If needed,you can add or modify the alarm name by clicking the right next to it.Under Alarm Name Setting,you can Add or Modify,as needed,then click OK.Note that this alarm name will be the name of the alarm that will show on the M2000 alarm window once the threshold is reached.

5.On the Extended Threshold Information Tab,set the threshold type(single or combined),Direction(increasing or decreasing),Function subset(from Performance Counter),the counter name(for example : maximum number of online users),and the Alarm Severity that are needed.On the example,we have set 150 as critical and 120 as Warning with Hysteresis of 10.Meaning,if the number is currently at 120 and increases by 10,it changes from Warning to Minor.Click OK to save the threshold setting.

6.To set Remote Notification for the alarm that was set,on the M2000 click on Monitor,Alarm Setting,and choose Remote Notification.

7.On the Remote Notification Tab,click on Add and select Alarm Notification Rule.

For this example,let us take the current alarm 40925(Performance Threshold Default Alarm) as an example for our remote notification setting.

8.On the Add Remote Notification Rule pop up window,check(box) the Alarm Name and click the button.On the Select Alarm pop up window,click on Common Alarm and select the alarm Performance Threshold Default Alarm 40925 and move it to the right side of the window using the right arrow key.Then click OK.

9.Once the alarm name is already set,click Next.

10.Select the Notification days and time,accordingly,then click Next.

11.Enter the email addreses of the recipients of the remote notification.Click Finish to complete the notification.
