Reference Collection Evaluation After a walk through our media center, the need for new reference collections is very much in need. The resources now available to our students can still be used but much of the new and current information is not available. The encyclopedias and dictionaries date back to 1990. However, a new thesauruses collection, almanacs, and an almanac manual are available. Most of the new resources are not barcoded therefor not cataloged making it hard for students and teacher to find and use. After my findings, I spoke with other teachers who were very helpful about what types of resources are needed to supplement their units and lesson plans. Their suggestions were helpful in completing my order.
