What is SONgs against prejudice?


Songs against Prejudice is a song writing competition dedicated to raising awareness of prejudice - be it race, gender, sexuality, age or any individual or group that is simply different. Songs against Prejudice will: Encourage people aged 13 to 18 to explore their lyrical ability by writing lyrics for a song. Allow entrants to get a critical review of their writing from a panel of La Motte Street Judges, with the top 3 entrants having further judging from *Local talent board* Enable entrants an opportunity to expose their writing to a new audience where maybe they would not have had a chance to before. Winner will receive a recorded performance of their song performed by a prominent local musician.

Songs against Prejudice rules:Entrants aged 12-18yrs will be asked to enter a set of lyrics that meet the criteria below:Length Subject Matter Written alone or jointly? Original work only Closing date The entry can be a recorded performance or written word
