Tana Toraja is situated in South Sulawesi.

Its eight hours drive from Makassar, where the nearest airport located. Tana Toraja is famous for its death ceremonies. It was foreign anthropologist who made it internationally known. They were so amazed at Torajan sophisticated culture, especially its death ceremony in which many buffaloes were slaughtered. Besides its culture, its hospitality people and breathtaking landscape along the way to Toraja attract tourist to visit the place. It is reported that thousand of tourist come to the place every year. The complex mixture of scenic beauty and magical culture of the Torajan have known for years. In 1974, Neckermann, one of the biggest German tour operator, started bringing large number of foreign tourist to the place. When tourist first come, the locals were happy as they could learn something from the outside world. There was a great hope that tourism would increase their economy. He tried to stretch his back legs to push off the bottom of the pail but found it too deep. But this frog was determined not to give up, and he continued to struggle. He kicked and squirmed and kicked and squirmed, until at last, all his churning about in the milk had turned the milk into a big hunk of butter.
