Purposes of Pre-Conference Conversation:


Provides teacher an opportunity to share thinking/rationale. Allows clarification for teacher and/or observer. Affords teacher a chance to highlight related information of which the observer might not be aware because it is not included in the lesson plan.

Purposes of Post-Conference Conversation:


Promotes the concept of a schoolwide culture of professional inquiry. Allows both the teacher and the observer to collaboratively be reflective on classroom and instructional practices. Establishes a tone for teacher and/or observer to engage in and promote professional development.
