Tricks Relative Motion Analysis for Velocities

1. Identify a point on the body of interest with known velocity and use it as the base point A to relate to the other points on the body. The pin connection point b/w two bodies serves as a common point. If the velocity of it can be found with motion of one of the two bodies, it can be used as the base point for the other. For bodies in pure rolling without slipping, the point on the body in contact with the surface has the same velocity as the surface. For unknown vectors, make assumptions about their sense and justify with the solution.
