The system of geosynthetic-reinforcement and pile support cannot be studied in i solation because they work together in combination to affect

the overall mechani sms in the embankment and this study helps to understand such combined effects. The combined use of both geosynthetic reinforcement and pile support has shown to have more advantages than the geosynthetics alone. The relative advantages in the effects have been highlighted in this thesis.
