This is for pre-algebra, algebra 1 or a science class learning scientific notation. These cards are to be printed out by the teacher. Arrange students into 4 to 5 groups and place masking tape along a line parallel to the board but 4 feet away. Have the students in groups decide who will go first, second etc. The firsts come to the line. Hold up a card so that the whole class can see it and the kids can rush to the board, write the number on the card in an equivalent form (scientific notation if it's written in standard or vice versa) and then crouch. The other students are allowed to shout out hints or advice to their team mates. The first student to crouch with the right answer earns a point for their team. Then the next students come to the board. Gets really loud but is a lot of fun.
