PRIORITIZATION

Priority

Nursing Diagnosis

Justification

Hypothermia related to exposure to cool environment and medication as evidenced by shivering and temperature of 34.5c.

We decided to prioritized this problem because we believed that this will need further attention to be treated first, Hypothermia is a medical emergency that occurs when your body loses heat faster than it can produce heat, causing a dangerously low body temperature, When your body temperature drops, your heart, nervous system and other organs can't work correctly. Left untreated, hypothermia can eventually lead to complete failure of your heart and respiratory system and to death of the patient.

Fluid volume deficit related to post surgical operation as evidenced by decreased urine output

We choose to second prioritized this because this problem also need an emergency treatment, Excessive loss of water and electrolytes in equal proportion; vascular, cellular or intracellular dehydration Fluids are used to treat the condition and may be taken orally or given intravenously to people who cannot swallow or who are unconscious. Severe dehydration can be a serious medical condition that results in convulsions and heart failure.

Anxiety related to situational crisis as evidenced by apprehension/uncertainty of outcome of surgery.

This is our last priority because, anxiety is not the result of a known or specific threat. Rather it comes from your minds vision of the possible dangers that may result in the situation, Anxiety is considered to be a normal reaction to a stressor. It may help an individual to deal with a demanding situation by prompting them to cope with it.
