Orbit Onshore

Improve safety and reliability by optimising inspection

Orbit Onshore is a comprehensive inspection optimisation software tool for onshore installations, including refineries, chemical and petrochemical facilities. Risks are calculated taking into account damage rates from different degradation mechanisms; then reduced through inspection planning.
Orbit Onshore is a software tool which uses DNV's Risk Based Inspection (RBI) technology to help you improve your inspection management programme. It allows you to quantify the risk for each piece of equipment, identifying the items with the highest probability of future failure and greatest potential cost or consequences. An inspection programme can then be devised to manage the maintenance of the equipment more efficiently, focusing Benefits Improved safety and reliability Reduced inspection costs Flexible assessment of plant risks including qualitative, semi-quantitative or quantitative analysis Identification of critical contributors to risk Optimisation of inspection intervals and methods User-friendly, flexible and efficient data entry using forms, grid or Microsoft Excel Complys with Dutch and French regulatory requirements. Comprehensive database of more than 1700 construction materials (ASME) Extensive database of more than 1600 chemicals and easy creation of new chemicals Accurate detailed consequence analysis results shared with the industry-standard Phast software Detailed estimation of the likelihood of failure as function of time using limit state equations for damage mechanisms Integration with the Orbit+ IDS (Inspection Databank system) your inspection resources on the high risk areas and minimising business interruption. As a result you can improve safety and reduce inspection costs. You can use Orbit Onshore to help improve the cost-benefit ratio of your resources, evaluate and justify inspection budgets, and demonstrate effective on investment.

Orbit Onshore

Orbit Onshore allows you to develop focused inspection plans that increase safety and reduce risk while helping to improve reliability. The optimised inspection programme often results in cost benefits due to reduced turnaround time, a reduction in the frequency or number of items to be inspected and the associated inspection maintenance costs.

Orbit Onshore contains modules tailored for risk analyses of onshore industrial installations. These include: Damage mechanism calculations - internal thinning - stress corrosion cracking - external damage - brittle fracture - fatigue - high temperature hydrogen attack - lining failure - pressure relief valve failure Consequence calculations - using PHAST technology - direct input of user-estimated values Inspection planning optimisation, cost benefit analysis and final approval Results in Orbit Onshore include overall executive summaries as well as detailed inspection planning reports. This allows you to view the big picture, looking at risk reduction and cost benefit analysis, yet also provides enough information to create a detailed inspection programme. Orbit Onshore contains multi-language capabilities and is currently available in English, French and Chinese.
