Mainstage Theatrical Supply System Sales

Designed large and small rigging, curtain, and lighting systems from the pre-planning of the future space to walking into an existing space and giving it a face-lift. Lead installer on multiple rigging installations that consisted of running a 5 person crew, working within the time frame that was allotted for the install and making sure all the materials were at a completely finished state before the project was signed off. In-store theatrical make-up and theatrical paint sales. Representative for the company at conferences such as USITT, SETC, TTA, MTA, ITA.

Germantown Community Theatre Resident Lighting Designer

Germantown, TN Jan. 2010- June 2011

This community theatre is a very small space with a big heart. Seated in history, this theatre is in a renovated schoolhouse. As the resident lighting designer I was in charge of designing all shows for the theatre within the budget allotted. Worked closely with the scenic department as a technical advisor to help insure safety and production quality for the theatre. Also worked with the producer on updating the space technically.

Playhouse On The Square Technical Director

Memphis, TN June 2002- Sept. 2005

This theatre company owned 3 different venues throughout the midtown area of Memphis and I was tasked with construction and development of all technical needs for their 18-show season. All scenic elements were developed by a professional scenic designer who was hired in to work the show at hand. We also prided ourselves on doing theatre that pushed the envelope or was a regional premier to bring a high production value to our audiences. My crew consisted of one carpenter/ ATD and 2-4 performance interns assigned to the scenic shop. These venues were also used for fund raisers and theatre conferences, as well as production spaces; Responsible for making sure space was clean and safe for the need at hand.

Shenandoah Conservatory Assistant Technical Director/ Instructor

Hired as a sabbatical replacement. Responsibilities included teaching Lighting 101 and running all scenic lab classes. In the classroom environment my students were a mix of theatre, dance and music majors in the Conservatory with this class being part of their general education core class. In the lab classes we had a mix of 80 freshman and 8-10 upper level students as the construction crew. In these labs we constructed mostly of wood in the scenic shop and painted all scenery, props and drops in the paint shop.

Supervision of scenic shop with the construction of four productions with varying levels of experience within the hired crew. Shows varied in technical needs from rolling scenery, multiple painted drops, to running and installation of a Foy Flying System. Responsibilities also include working with designers, technical director, stage managers and run crews to ensure the safety and production quality of the shows.

Papermill Theatre Carpenter/ Technician:

Lincoln, NH Summer 1999

This was my first summer stock experience. We were a crew of two carpenters and we constructed the three summer productions and also became part of the running crew. Worked closely with the Scenic Designer/Master Carpenter and Technical Director on the production drawings and maintenance of the theatre space.
