The Fundraising Plan for Child Welfare Reform and Family Support Association February 11, 2013 - December

1. Case for Support 1. a. Write a Case for Support for Child Welfare Reform and Family Support Association. b. Obtain Board approval of the Case for Support. 2. Corporate Giving 1. Research & solicit 3-5 new corporations/businesses for charitable contributions with a goal of raising $50,000. 2. Research local companies regarding employee giving programs and approach those that are appropriate for Child Welfare Reform and Family Support Association's mission. 3. Review Child Welfare Reform and Family Support Association's needs and determine which needs could be underwritten with in-kind gifts and approach those corporations that could provide the in-kind goods or services needed. 3. Foundation 1. Research 3-5 foundations that have not previously supported Child Welfare Reform and Family Support Association. 2. Submit proposals to 3-5 foundations that have not previously supported Child Welfare Reform and Family Support Association with a goal of raising $50,000 3. Prior to submitting proposals to previous funders or prospective funders, we will provide a letter of intent and call each foundation and discuss the intent of our proposal. 4. Invite previous and prospective funders to visit our site and/or programs. 5. Provide appropriate reports as requested by the funder. 6. Send appropriate thank you letters and provide donor recognition to the funders. 4. Special Events 1. Evaluate Child Welfare Reform and Family Support Association's signature event and consider income activities that will reach our goal of raising $40,000. 2. Recruit an event chairman and a committee for Child Welfare Reform and Family Support Association's signature event. 3. Explore ideas for other smaller fundraising events with a goal of raising $1015,000 per event. 4. Research & solicit 3-5 corporations/businesses for sponsorship of our special events using corporate marketing dollars with a goal of raising $1-5,000 per sponsorship. 5. Civic/Community/Religious Organizations 1. Research opportunities to apply for funding from civic, community, and religious organizations as appropriate with a goal of raising $10-20,000. 2. Research opportunities for third-party fundraisers, such as asking the local Rotary Club to implement a golf tournament on Child Welfare Reform and Family Support Association's behalf with a goal of raising $10-20,000.

6. Board of Directors 1. Discuss setting term limits for Child Welfare Reform and Family Support Association board members with the appropriate staff and volunteers. 2. Discuss and develop a board matrix to insure that the board is diverse and brings the skills needed to increase fundraising efforts and to provide direction for Child Welfare Reform and Family Support Association. 3. Approach Child Welfare Reform and Family Support Association's board members with suggestions for developing clearly defined roles and responsibilities for board members which will be signed when they are elected to the board. 4. Approach the board regarding the establishment of a board member giving policy to be included in the roles and responsibilities for board members. 5. Approach Child Welfare Reform and Family Support Association's board with suggestions for ways to participate in fundraising. 6. Develop a board orientation for all new Child Welfare Reform and Family Support Association board members. 7. Review bylaws and roles and responsibilities regarding Child Welfare Reform and Family Support Association board member's committee participation and then discuss with appropriate staff and volunteers 8. Survey Child Welfare Reform and Family Support Association board members regarding the types of information they would like to receive and create a plan to research and disseminate the information to strengthen Child Welfare Reform and Family Support Association board member's skills and knowledgebase regarding Child Welfare Reform and Family Support Association's programs. 7. Online Fundraising 1. Review the success of Child Welfare Reform and Family Support Association's online donation program and develop strategies to increase the dollars raised with a goal of raising $2-5,000 MONTHLY. 2. Review all collateral material to confirm presence of Child Welfare Reform and Family Support Association's website address. 3. Develop a plan to increase Child Welfare Reform and Family Support Association's website traffic by maximizing search engine rankings with improved meta tags, promoting Child Welfare Reform and Family Support Association's fundraising campaigns on social media sites, and increase Child Welfare Reform and Family Support Association's visibility on corporate partner's websites. 4. Develop an e-mail messaging program for communicating regularly with donors and prospects. 5. Communicate all membership program changes to Child Welfare Reform and Family Support Association's constituents by creating new collateral materials, updating information on Child Welfare Reform and Family Support Association's website and writing an article for the newsletter. 9. Donor Recognition 1. Write a donor recognition plan for Child Welfare Reform and Family Support Association. 2. Obtain Board approval of the donor recognition plan. 10. Donor Management 1. Develop donor management policies and procedures for Child Welfare Reform and Family Support Association. 2. Secure and implement donor management software by month 4 and have the appropriate staff trained to properly utilize the software.
