Intensive Executive Certificate Program in Cuban Studies

The Institute for Cuban and Cuban-American Studies (ICCAS) at the University of Miami is proud to open enrollment for an intensive three-day CUBAN STUDIES CERTIFICATE PROGRAM to be held from February 15 17, 2013. This weekend program is designed to accommodate busy schedules. Our programs expert instructors use a multi-disciplinary approach to reflect Cubas past and address Cubas present and future issues. The program creates an ideal atmosphere for participants to interact, exchange ideas, and think innovatively about the challenges and opportunities awaiting Cuba. The fee for the program is $495, which includes the recommended books for the course. The main professors for the course include, Jose Azel, Brian Latell, Pedro Roig, Jaime Suchlicki and the participation of guest lecturers. Breakfast will be provided all 3 days, and lunch for first 2.This 2013 program includes 3 sessions: The 2013 intensive program includes 3 days of seminars: Fri, Feb. 15 (8:30AM 4:30PM): Cubas Past 1) Republican Cuba, 2) the Cuban Revolution, and 3) the Bay of Pigs, and the Missile Crisis Lecturers: Jos Azel, Jaime Suchlicki, and Brian Latell Sat, Feb. 16 (8:30AM 4:30PM): Cubas Present 1) Cubas Civil Society and Opposition, 2) Cubas Leadership and Armed Forces, and 3) Cubas Economy and the Cuban Diaspora Lecturers: Pedro Roig, and Jos Azel Sun, Feb. 17 (8:30AM 1:15PM): Cubas Future 1) Central and Eastern European Transitions, 2) Transitional Challenges and Opportunities, and 3) Business challenges and opportunities Lecturers: Jos Azel Due to limited places, we encourage you to register as soon as possible.
