It is a great honor and privilege for us engineers to be part of one of the most dynamic professional field in our society. And with this privilege comes the great responsibility to do the right thing for our planet and serve as responsible stewards of the environment. As awareness of the enormity of global environment problems continually increased in recent decades, interest in environmental concern has also grown. The collective rise of public awareness towards sensitive environmental issues paved the way for the field of engineering to be more conscious of the varied ecological concerns of the planet. PICEs yearly conference brings together the greatest minds in the engineering field and at the same time, broadens the pool of people who care about the environment, feel a sense of responsibility to improve its current condition, and have unparalleled skills to take effective actions. Let us all take this chance to keep ourselves abreast with the latest technological advances in our respected field so as to strategically device methods that will invariably solve pressing environmental problems. With all the things that we are going through right now, one might think that theres no hope left for mankind, but with our joint efforts, I believe that together we can make a difference.
