O CHEMICAL CLEANING PROCEDURE

FOR 1ST DESALINATION REVERSE OSMOSIS : Stages: 1. Flush for minimum 5 minutes with permeate water at low flow rate ( maximum 4 bar ). 2. Fill up CLP Tank with chemical BIOCLEAN 882 882 lt and 6.618 tonnes permeate water = 7.5 tonnes (capacity of CLP Tank). 3. Circulate the BIOCLEAN 882 solution during 30 minutes at flow rate 2205 LPM (maximum pressure 4 bar, and maximum temperature 450 C). 4. Soaking with the BIOCLEAN 882 solution for 60 minutes. 5. Circulate the BIOCLEAN 882 solution during 30 minutes at flow rate 2205 LPM 6. Drain the BIOCLEAN 882 Solution 7. Flush for 5 to 10 minutes with permeate water until PH Feeding = PH reject 8. Repeated the above procedure using BIOCLEAN 511 Note: Volume BIOCLEAN 511 solution at CLP Tank 164 lt with 7.336 tonnes permeate water = 7.5 tonnes capacity of tank. FOR 2nd DESALINATION REVERSE OSMOSIS (MAKE UP R.O): First Stages : 1. Flush for minimum 15 minutes with permeate water at low flow rate ( maximum 4 bar ). 2. Fill up CLP Tank with chemical BIOCLEAN 103A 35 lt and 965 lt permeate water = 1000 lt. 3. Circulate the BIOCLEAN 103A solution during 60 minutes at flow rate 588 LPM (maximum pressure 4 bar, and maximum temperature 450 C). 4. Soaking with the BIOCLEAN 103A solution for 120 minutes. 5. Circulate the BIOCLEAN 103A solution during 60 minutes at flow rate 588 LPM 6. Drain the BIOCLEAN 103A Solution 7. Flush for 15 minutes with permeate water until pH Feeding = pH reject 8. Repeated the above procedure using BIOCLEAN 511 Note: Volume BIOCLEAN 511 solution at CLP Tank 35 lt with 965 lt permeate water = 1000 lt. Second Stages : 1. Flush for minimum 15 minutes with permeate water at low flow rate ( maximum 4 bar ). 2. Fill up CLP Tank with chemical BIOCLEAN 103A 17 lt and 983 lt permeate water = 1000 lt. 3. Circulate the BIOCLEAN 103A solution during 60 minutes at flow rate 294 LPM (maximum pressure 4 bar, and maximum temperature 450 C). 4. Soaking with the BIOCLEAN 103A solution for 120 minutes. 5. Circulate the BIOCLEAN 103A solution during 60 minutes at flow rate 294 LPM 6. Drain the BIOCLEAN 103A Solution 7. Flush for 5 to 10 minutes with permeate water until pH Feeding = pH reject 8. Repeated the above procedure using BIOCLEAN 511 Note: Volume BIOCLEAN 511 solution at CLP Tank 17 lt with 983 lt permeate water = 1000 lt. Clean the membrane each stage dont clean it all together in the same time. Total Dissolve Solid tolerance 0.6-0.7 x normal conductivity Product Specification: 1. BIOCLEAN 882 by Argo Scientific BetzDearborn Company , Sodium Hydroxide Corrosive Liquid Basic Inorganic. Purpose : to remove micro organism from membrane filter Quantity : 28 small drums @ 45 lb and 11 big drums @ 229 kg Risk :

Irritating to eyes, skin or respiratory system Precaution: Avoid contact with skin & eyes, wear suitable gloves and eye/face protections First Aid Instruction: In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical attention After contact with skin, rinse the exposed area with plenty of water and soap. Cleaning Instruction: 1. Add BioClean 882 to Chemical Cleaning Tank ( 1 part of BioClean 882 to 9 part permeate water). 2. Recirculate solution through system for 30 minutes 3. Circulate through pressure vessels in the feed direction for one hour. Follow membrane manufacturers flow & pressure guidelines. Maximum recommended pressure 60 psig. Maximum flow rate : 8 gpm for 4 pipe 20 gpm for 6pipe 35 gpm for 8pipe best result will be achieved in multipass system if each pass is cleaned separately. 4. Rinse with permeate water before returning system to service to adjust permeate PH 2 3 to decrease rinse time. 2. BIOCLEAN 511 by Argo Scientific BetzDearborn Company , Purpose : to remove suspended solid particles from membrane filter. Quantity : 2 big drums @ 229 kg and 12 small drums @ 45 lb Important note: This product is for industrial use only and its to be used as a polyamide membrane cleaner for Removing biological and metalic organic fouling . Do not use this on cellulose acetate membrane. Only use on Thin Film Composite membrane. BioClean 511 may cloud in cold weather (600 C or Below) Risk : Irritating to eyes, skin or respiratory system Precaution: Avoid contact with skin & eyes, wear suitable gloves and eye/face protections First Aid Instruction: In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical attention After contact with skin, rinse the exposed area with plenty of water and soap. Cleaning Instruction: 1. Add BioClean 511 to Chemical Cleaning Tank ( 1 pound of BioClean 511 to 5 gallons of permeate water (approximately 2 % )). Mix with agitator or recirculator through cleaning pump. Solution can be heated to improve cleaning effectiveness up to temperature limit (set by membrane manufacturers) 2. 3. Rinse with permeate water before returning system to service to adjust permeate PH to PH 10 to decrease rinse time. 3. Important note: This product is for industrial use only and its to be used as a Cellulose acetate and Thin Film Composite membrane cleaner for Removing biological and metalic organic fouling . Risk : Irritating to eyes, skin or respiratory system Precaution: Avoid contact with skin & eyes, wear suitable gloves and eye/face protections First Aid Instruction: In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical attention After contact with skin, rinse the exposed area with plenty of water and soap. Cleaning Instruction: 1. Add BioClean 103 A to Chemical Cleaning Tank ( 1 pound of BioClean 103 A to 5 gallons of permeate water ). Mix with agitator or recirculator through cleaning pump. Solution can be heated to improve cleaning effectiveness up to temperature limit (set by membrane manufacturers) 2. Circulate through pressure vessels in the feed direction for one hour. Follow membrane manufacturers flow & pressure guidelines. Maximum recommended pressure 60 psig. Maximum flow rate : 8 gpm for 4 pipe 20 gpm for 6pipe 35 gpm for 8pipe The first 15 % of the cleaning solution after the first pass should be discharged to drain. After this, the cleaning solution should be recirculated for 30 minutes to 1 hour. best result will be achieved in multipass system if each pass is cleaned separately. 3. Rinse with permeate water before returning system to service to adjust the conductivity back to normal (stabilizes).
