Early Humans Inquiry History 30% Project Inquiry What is Your Question? (Complex QuestionHow, Why or What)
Why did early humans start making burial ground and burying their dead companions?

Prediction What do you think you will find? (Be specific; Draw connections)
I think I will find that it has a lot to do with their brain size and their ability to work together. Maybe because they started acting like a community they felt pain and sorrow that one of the members of their clan died. One of the huge developments from ape to human is that the hominids started feeling emotions, and that may have been one of the reasons they respected those who died.

Investigation What did you uncover? (Expected and unexpected answers to your question)
When I researched why early humans buried their dead it was very difficult to find an answer to my question. I thought that because we learned that Neanderthals were the first to bury their dead, that I might look up Neanderthals Bury Their Dead in the search engine I might find what I was looking for. As it turned out that was not the solution, however I did discover something that both interested me and grossed me out. French and American researchers have very strong evidence that Neanderthals were cannibals. They found bones of deer bones and bones of Neanderthals that were both butchered in the same way.
