Primary Sources Anonymous English Poet. This Stamp Act Schanzer, Rosalyn. George vs. George. Washington, DC: National Geographic, 2007. I thought this quote was very funny. It warns that the colonists will never accept the Stamp Act, or any British taxes.

Lafayette, Marquis de. Their feet and legs Schanzer, Rosalyn. George vs. George. Washington, DC: National Geographic, 2007. The Marquis de Lafayette was a very young French military officer fighting for General Washington. He was describing the horrible conditions during a winter at Valley Forge.

I used this picture to show the anger and resentment that was building between Britain and America.

I used this picture because it shows how angry the colonists are about the soldiers living in their towns and how the soldiers were mean to them.

I used it because it is one of the accomplishments of the Second Continental Congress and an important step toward independence.

I used this picture because it was a beautiful patriotic painting that shows the importance of the surrender.

I found this picture in a Senate document from 1931 called THE VIRGINIA CAMPAIGN AND THE BLOCKADE AND SIEGE OF YORKTOWN 1781. I included this picture to show what the key military leaders looked like at the time of the American Revolution. He looks like a nice man.

This picture is important because King George was the man who fought the French and Indian War, got into a large amount of debt, and thought of all the taxes and punishments for the colonists.

It is unfinished because the British refused to sit while the picture was painted. I used this pictured because it shows who was there at the time the treaty was created.

It had a whole unit on the Revolutionary War. It was easy to understand. I used it to write all parts of the project, except for the Siege of Yorktown Timeline.

I used this picture because it shows how angry the colonists were about paying taxes on tea. It is not a primary source because it was painted at the time of the Boston Tea party.

To me it represents before, during and after the American Revolution.

I used this picture because it shows the Americans in the redoubts. It is not a primary source because it was painted at the time of the Battle of Yorktown.

It also shows British routes, and the French and British ships routes.

This picture is important because this war got Britain into lots of debt, which made King George make lots of extra taxes for the colonists. It is not a primary source because it was painted in the early 20th century.

Schanzer, Rosalyn. George vs. George. Washington, DC: National Geographic, 2007. This is a great book about the Revolutionary War. I used it for the quotes from famous people, and reliable information. It also showed the American Revolution from the American point of view and the British point of view. It has great illustrations.
