Name
Dracul Romanian would be Dragon, but sometimes also means Devil

Vlad was not called Tepes, wich means spike in Romanian, until after his death; instead, he was know as Vlad Dracula, the added a meaning son of, so essentially, throughout his life , he was known as the Son of the devil

Childhood
In 1436, Vlad Dracul betrayed de Order of the dracul, forming an alliance with the Turks.
In 1447, he was assassinated by one of his relative John Hundayi, who had devoted his life to figthing te Ottoman Turks, and did not approve of Vlad Draculs proTurkish policy.

Vlad Tepas grown resentful and vowed to have his revenge. The throne of Wallachia, was now occupied by the boyars. The still teenaged Vlad Dracula, with the help of Pasha Mustafa HassanTurkish cavalry, defeated the boyars, reclaiming the throne. Killing his fathers murderer, and defeting Vladislav II, to take over as the new ruler of Wallachia.

In 1569, following an Easter Sunday feast, Vlad Dracul had all the boyar family who had been attendig arrested. Those who were good health were condemned to a life of slavery,. Those who were old and weak were impaled for all to see. Thus began Vlad the Impalers reign of blood and terror

Vlad the Impaler

Vlad impaled all his enemies. The Impalement is the traumatic penetration of an organism by an elongated foreign object such as a stake, pole, or spear, and this usually implies complete perforation of the central mass of the impaled body. While the term may be used in reference to an unintentional accident, it is more frequently used in reference to the deliberate act as a method of torture and execution. Vlad was the first in Europe to prefer this method of execution during the late medieval period
