TITLE: The Eggshell That Makes The Best Fertilizer

I. Background of the Study

In addition to the calcium, the eggshells contain about

1% nitrogen, about a half-percent phosphoric acid, and
other trace elements that make them a practical fertilizer.
Calcium is an essential plant nutrient which plays a
fundamental part in cell manufacture and growth. Most
roots must have some calcium at the growing tips. Plant
growth removes large quantities of calcium from the soil,
and calcium must be replenished, so this is an ideal way to
recycle your eggshells.

II. Problem of the Study

This study was conducted to answer the following

problem:

Which among the following types of eggshells can make

the best fertilizer? Could it be century eggshell, chicken
eggshell, duck eggshell or quail eggshell?

III. Hypothesis of the Study

We think that if we use century eggshell, it will make the
best fertilizer among the other eggshells.
IV. Objectives of the Study

➢ To determine which among the selected types of

eggshell can make the best fertilizer

V. Design of the Study

A. Variables
A1. Controlled Variable
➢ Age of Plant
➢ Type of Soil
➢ Amount of Water Being Used Everyday

A2. Manipulated Variable

➢ Type of Eggshell

A3. Responding Variable

➢ The Growth of the Plant
➢ The Height of the Plant

B. Materials
➢ 5 pots with the same amount of a particular soil and with
plants of the same kind
➢ 4 kinds of eggshell
➢ Water

C. Procedure
1. Pound the 4 kinds of eggshell.
2. Place each kind of eggshell on a pot.
3. One pot contains no pounded eggshell.
4. Water them everyday.
5. After a few days, measure the height of each plant.
6. The tallest one is placed on the pot with the best
fertilizer.
