Antietam on the Web. 1996-2013. Web. 22 Jan. 2013. This primary source is a letter written by General Lee, telling about his plans for moving into Maryland with his troops. It also told a lot about what was going on before the battle, which was helpful to my research. This information will help me with background information on General Lee. Downey, Brian. This was important to my project because it was General McClellans own words and thoughts on the battle. Randall, James Ryder. Maryland, My Maryland. Miller & Beacham,1861. Mp3. This is a song that was actually written during the beginning of the Civil War. James Ryder Randall was opposed to the North and wrote this song about how great the Confederates were. It was important to my research and helped me understand how much everyone was against each other. I will have this song recording playing on my website as an example of music of that time. This was a picture of the battle site with a cannon and a memorial to the soldiers who fought in the battle. The book contained biographies of people important to the Civil War, and some explanations of who they were and how they contributed to the war.
