Dear Presbyters: It is with excitement that I announce to you that, at the meeting of the Comox-Nanaimo Presbytery on February 22, 2013, the ProVision Fund of the Comox-Nanaimo Presbytery Application was approved. The ProVision Fund of Comox-Nanaimo Presbytery has been established by the Presbytery and BC Conference to make a number of grants available each year for 10 years. The ProVision Fund of Comox-Nanaimo Presbytery is $1,000,000. The Presbytery has access to the investment income of this fund and up to 50% of the capital over the next 10 years. After 10 years, residual funds will transfer to a B.C. Conference wide fund. It is with deep gratitude to everyone who has worked towards the establishment of the ProVision Fund of the Comox-Nanaimo Presbytery that I announce that the first intake of applications to the ProVision Fund is May 1st, 2013. The second opportunity to submit an application this year is October 1st, 2013. I am asking that all Presbyters ensure that congregational Boards/ Councils and ministry contexts are aware of this funding opportunity. The details of the ProVision Fund criteria and the application process are clearly outlined in the application form. We celebrate this gift and the ministry that it will birth. We pray for wise stewardship of this gift. Now is the time to pray, to discern, to be creative and innovative in cooperation with the Spirit of life which empowers us to love one another as Jesus the Christ loves us. Blessings,
