Related Questions What area of technology would you like more staff development trainings on? When do you feel is the best time for a technology training? How many hours of technology staff development have you attended this school year? After receiving technology training, how well do you feel prepared to begin to use them in your classroom?

The domain of concern at Jefferson Elementary, as a result of a STaR Chart analysis, is Educator Preparation & Development, more specifically the area of access to professional development. Educator Preparation & Development is the lowest scoring domain in the last three school years analysis. The goal is to gain the target status in this area; although the rating has increased in this area in the past two years, Jefferson Elementary is not at a target tech rating. I feel that the scoring for this domain will increase from the current developing tech status in the school year 2012-2013, because the principal has provided opportunities for staff development in technology by scheduling technology day. Teachers have to report for training during their conference to the library. The technology media specialist, also known as the campus librarian, then gives teachers training on web 2.0 tool resources and gives examples of how to implement them in the classroom. Also, many teachers serve on vertical alignment teams for the district and attend quarterly meetings. At these meetings, teachers were given trainings on technology. If teachers rate their choices accordingly, the STaR chart results should show an increase for Educator Preparation & Development. The following survey was created using Surveymonkey.com and sent by email through link to ten Jefferson Elementary staff members: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/RHZLLVH . Five staff members took the time to fill out the survey.
