What is a Kidney?
A kidney is an organ. Humans have two kidneys. You find the kidney close to the vertebral column at the small of the back. The left kidney lies a little higher than the right kidney. They look like beans. Each kidney is about 5 inches long and about 3 inches wide. It is the same size as the computer mouse.

Why are Kidneys important?


Kidneys are important because the keep our body clean. The kidneys separate urea, mineral salts, toxins, and other waste products from the blood. The kidneys also keeps, salts, and electrolytes. One kidney must work. We can live with only one kidney.

Types of Kidney Diseases


When kidneys go bad, people can get diabetes, high blood pressure, and kidney stones. Diabetes is when we have too much sugar in our body. High blood pressure when our blood goes up and we can get dizzy. Kidney stones is a hard stone it the kidney and it hurts a lot.

How to keep the Kidneys healthy?


To keep kidneys, we must not eat too much sugar or salt. We must eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. We should not smoke. We need to exercise. We must listen to our doctors and take our medicine on time.
