Hondo 4-H Shotgun Team interest is growing rapidly.

Last year we had twenty four

members and this year we have over fifty kids that have signed up to shoot. In order to
accommodate for our growth and to promote county and team unity, we are attempting to
raise funds to build a skeet range. At the present time we have to travel to Bandera or San
Antonio to shoot skeet. Locally we have a trap field set up at Sandy Steubing’s farm.
When we are able to raise enough money to purchase a pair of skeet machines and
materials necessary to build two skeet houses, we plan to build the skeet range at Sandy’s
as well. This would greatly reduce our traveling expense and allow us to practice more
often. Donations will also help defer other cost associated with expenses, such as clays,
ammunition costs and other equipment.

We participated in 5 invitational shoots last year. These shoots were the Kerr County
Shoot, Bandera County, Frio County 4-H Shoot, Comal Count and the Texas 4-H State
Games held in San Antonio. This season we hope to expand the number of invitational
shoots that we attend.

We invite you to sponsor the 4H youth with this endeavor. Any contribution will ensure a
successful shotgun season and go far in encouraging youth to continue in a forward
direction. Contributions/sponsors of $50 or more will be recognized on a banner that will
be displayed at all events that the 4-H Shotgun Project Team attends.

For a contribution of $100 or more a contributor and a friend (a two person team) will be
invited to join the 4-H shooters in a Fun-Shoot and Bar-B-Q to be held in April. (Weather
permitting. Date and time to be announced)

Your contributions are greatly appreciated. Any contribution of $500.00 or more will
include a sign placed on our new skeet towers recognizing your commitment to area
youth endeavors. Thank you for supporting area 4-H youth.
