Job Description MAINTENANCE CHAIR Position: Elected - Two-year term (Option for one two-year renewal) The Maintenance

Chair should be baptized, 18 years of age and a regular communicant and should have some experience in Preventative Maintenance Programs and some knowledge of Construction and Maintenance contracts. Corporation, Vestry. Peoples' Warden, Volunteer Chair, Parish Secretary, Rector and/or Associate Priest as required. Manage the total maintenance program for the parish by ensuring that all interior and exterior maintenance is carried out, identifying and overseeing upgrades to the Physical Plant, determining future requirements in conjunction with Vestry, negotiating leases and renewals as required and participating as a member of Vestry. The duties of this position will include but are not limited to the following:
1. Preventative Maintenance:

Duties:

a. Coordinate the ongoing preventative maintenance program for the physical plant. b. Arrange for trades people to conduct a total inspection of the physical plant once per year, and to ensure complete documentation is kept for every inspection as to what was done and the results. c. Ensure a current list of volunteers for maintenance work is available for the Parish office. d. Prepare, with the Treasurer, the annual preventative maintenance and yearly utilities budgets.
2. General Maintenance:

a. Lawn maintenance including the cutting, weeding, fertilizing and watering of lawns. b. To ensure the water system is turned off in winter and flowing freely in the spring to fall seasons. c. If water rationing occurs, to ensure the rationing plan is carried out at the Church. d. To ensure that snow removal contracts and shoveling schedules are in place. e. To ensure a check of fire extinguishers is done each fall and that appropriate records are maintained.

3. Other Related Duties:

a. Act as resource person at Corporation meetings as requested. b. Attend and participate in Synod when required as an alternate c. Synod Delegate in accordance with Canon 5 clause 62(a) to (c). Conduct an annual review to ensure proper coverage under the Diocesan Insurance Policy.
4. Collective Vestry Responsibility:

Attend and participate in Vestry in accordance with Canon 5 clause 63(a) to (e).
