Justification
There is an explanation of what the students should know, what they will learn and how it can be used. There is, however, no end of the unit summary but there is a test preparation section.

Practice problems range from no context problems, word context problems, application, activities, warm-ups, post activities, and going further problems. This book introduces each term where needed. It provides pictures and definitions. It sets apart the definition and picture in a separate box. The book also uses that exact term for the rest of the chapter. There are step by step examples. The book provides practice problems that deal with what the students learned and are learning

The text makes connections to what they have already learned and explains how it will help them in the next lesson. I would like to see more real-world connections though. There are no people pictured within the text. The book gives numerous tips for teachers of how to help slow students and challenge excelled ones. It also incorporates technology ideas and various projects.

Overall Rating: High / High-Medium

Looking at the ratings I gave for the sections, this is a good text book. My experience with using it in the classroom has been a positive one and I havent found anything that I dont like about this text. I have talked with my CT about why she chose it and she put a lot of thought into it. It is very helpful in making lesson plans and provides support for the teacher and student.
