FADE IN: INT. KITCHEN HOME - NIGHT A typical suburban kitchen. Yellow wallpaper and spotless white tiles. Elanor (mid 40s, distressed) is pacing the kitchen when Mary (16, drunk and stoned) enters. ELANOR Why didnt you call me? Ive been trying to get a hold of you for the past hour. MARY So-rry. I just dont like calling. No one even calls now except you. ELANOR You texting me "whatever" is not acceptable. MARY Well Im home now. ELANOR And past curfew. Where were you? What were you doing? MARY Nothing. ELANOR So nothing includes stinking of alcohol and marijuana. MARY That doesnt mean I did anything. Its just Im in places where people do those things. ELANOR You know Singapore isnt California right? You get caught smoking pot and they will hang you by the next Friday. MARY I wont get caught. ELANOR Just know that if you get caught, theres nothing I can do.
