The Freehand tool which is included with ArcGIS 10 creates irregular polygons and polylines by drawing on the map but it is often difficult to create smooth features that must pass through certain points. The Curved construction tool from this download allows you to create these types of features by fitting curves through the start, intermediate and end points. To install this tool: 1. Download and extract the .msi file from the .zip file. 2. Double-click the .msi file to begin the installation and follow the instructions in the wizard. You will need administrator privileges to complete the installation, as the customization is a COM .dll.

To uninstall this tool: 1. Double-click the .msi file to run the uninstall wizard or remove it by using the programs list in your operating system. To use this tool: 1. Click a polygon or polyline feature template in the Create Features window. 2. Click the Curved tool on the Create Features window. 3. Start the feature with a single click in the display and add subsequent points with single clicks. A curved feedback will be shown between the points. 4. Finish the sketch to create the feature. Polygons will be closed with a curved segment when you finish the sketch.
