Classroom Management Plan

General Classroom Control

A. General Rules followed by Students 1. Always listen to others 2. Be respectful of others property 3. Hands up, Dont call out 4. Respect opinions of others 5. Treat others the way you want to be treated. B. Classroom Consequences 1st offense: Verbal Warning given by teacher 2nd offense: Student loses recess time and has a talk with teacher 3rd offense: Student calls home to parents to explain behavior in class 4th offense: Teacher calls home to parents 5th offense: Sent to Principal The first couple days of school I will spend explaining my expectations to the students. We will design more rules to the list and discuss the ones already preset. We will also go over the consequences for the actions. I do not agree with giving the student the opportunity to express what they think their consequences are. By having the preset consequences, they know what they are getting into before they get in trouble.

Classroom Management and Organization

- The seating chart will be assigned at the beginning of the year. Depending on how the seating chart is going, it will determine when we change the arrangement. - Students will be taught the classroom expectations on the first day of class. Any student that acts up in class will be asked to rely back to the expectations that were discussed on the first day of class and that are posted in the back of the classroom - All assignments will be assigned to help the students succeed and in the best interest of the student. - Once the bell rings, I expect all students to be seated and getting to work on their daily bell work.

Expectations of the Teacher

Expectations of the Student

Procedures
No lining up at the door until told to do so, Allow the students at the end of the day to grab their things and line up at the door so you can check the classroom for any things being forgotten and making sure all the chairs are up. Be seated and have materials ready before the bell rings. Each student needs to be seated when the bell rings and working on their bell work with all appropriate materials. When you come in make lunch choice, I will need to send the lunch count in as soon as announcements are over to let the cafeteria the students lunch choices. End school day on dismissal. All chairs must be on desks and nothing should be on the ground. All water bottles and lunch bags should be taken home daily. By letting the students go on dismissal this proves to them you are in charge. When you are absent the work the student misses will be in the absent folder. The absent folder is located by the turn in basket. Each student is in charge of getting all the work they miss from the absent folder. If there are any questions about the material missed, feel free to approach the teacher. Passing in papers in a neat and organized fashion, The students will pass the papers to the end of the rows. The student at the end of the row will get up and put the papers in the turn in basket. When there are visitors in the classroom, each student must be on their best behavior. When work is finished early, the student should feel free to pull out any work that is incomplete or a monthly reading book.

Beliefs about classroom Discipline

Minor disruptions- When dealing with a minor disruption, I will have to decide if it is worth stopping what I am doing to deal with the problem. Minor disruptions frequently build into more troublesome ones. Therefor, I need to address them with the least amount of disruption to the entire class. On-going discipline issues- For a student that has had frequent cases misbehaving, I will ask the student to stay after class. The parents will also be contacted on the behavior. I will then decide with the parents what to do about the behavior and how to remove it from the classroom. Aggressive and violent behaviors- If there is a aggressive or violent behavior that is occurring, I will separate the students and remove them from the situation. I want the students to feel safe in my classroom and if a behavior like this happens there will be major consequences. If I could not handle the aggressive or violent behavior by myself, I would call another staff member to my classroom to help me deal with the behavior. I will walk both of the students down to the office to make sure that the behavior is straightened out. While I walk down to the office, I will have another staff member watch my classroom. I would explain how the behavior ruptured to avoid the two different stories that will be told from the students.
