Best Method to Manufacture Nut and Bolt

Nut and Bolt are widely used mechanical components in variety of fields from toy to aeroplane. So their importance van be justified by their by their demand. If we have an overview of manufacturing of nut and bolt then v would see that process start from casting, machining, and finishing, threading and final finishing. First of all we would have casting of long tubular parts from which we would cast out raw material for Nut and Bolt by using subsequent machining process. So this is conventional method of casting raw material for Nut and Bolt and there is no suitable process other than this. As far as threading is concerned I have new innovative idea regarding threading which is called VICE PRESSING AND THREADING METHOD. In this process everything is automated this is single system process means we dont need to make head of Bolt separately. First of all head is formed by clamping Bolt in Vice and pressing it against a press thus forming head of Bolt. Now by using the same process as thread rolling in this method we would use rotary dies for external threads whereas for internal threading we would use FORMING TAPS. Advantages: Production rates in thread rolling can be high Better material utilization, Stronger threads due to work hardening Smoother surface Better fatigue resistance due to compressive stresses introduced by rolling. One system process No need of skilled labour.
