Experience
Principal, Northwestern Middle School Springfield, Ohio 2011-2012

Oversaw the daily operations including curriculum, personnel, safety, and fiscal matters for a school of nearly 600 students and 50 employees and a community of stakeholders. I constantly looked for ways to improve how we educate students through use of technology, differentiated instruction, and best practices while also respecting traditions and strategies that are currently successful. I believed in fostering an environment that encouraged those same qualities in my staff by providing them opportunities to grow professionally and be innovative in the classroom. I expected that they be lifelong learners and be confident in their abilities to try new research-based ideas in order to improve student engagement and achievement. My vision was that students feel this same sense of pride and excitement in their school and in learning and will be driven to create their own success.
