Before the year 2004, Super didnt have a proper SCM department, all the activities of the SCM were taken care by marketing department. In those days the costs were higher and productivity was lower, also the company was losing most of its sales due to supply chain issues. In the 2nd half of 2004, a separate SCM dept. was created that was to control all the logistics and SC activities. SC department was to take care of all the Bottom-line activities and marketing department was to control all the Top-line activities of company.
