Li Chun Ho (Alvin Li) History Revision: 1914-1917: effect of WW1 & Feb 1917 Revolution past paper questions.

November 2005 Question 11 (b) Why was the revolution of March 1917 successful? [7] The revolution of March 1917 was successfully accomplished and led to the abdication of the Tsar because he had lost considerable amount of support for practically all classes of society. Rasputin contributed to the success as many people were furious at how an individual like him was able to have great influence over the Tsar family. For example, when the Tsar left to fight at the war front himself, which was a big mistake, he left the daily routines of Russia to the Tsarina. Not only were people suspicious of her German background, Rasputin greatly influenced her decision. He placed in people who knew how to make him feel happy and comfort instead of those who actually had the experience and knowledge of running the country.
