Unit 3. Project Clock Face Design

My Design Specification 1. Mozambican-inspired theme or design. 2. Recycled materials will be used. 3. My learner Profile Attribute is: Knowledgeable. 4. My clock is for students to get better organized so they do their Homework and get better grades. 5. Specific Materials would be thread, paint, recycled material such as: plastic bags and newspaper, magazines. 6. The Shape would be rectangular of it would be the clock and the rest would be for the post its. 7. The colors I am going to use would the green, black, yellow, red and maybe brown. 8. The clock will be used by strong white cardboard so it will be strong. 9. It wont cause any harm to anyone it helps students remember and tells the time and they will now when to do what. 10. I will use some Mozambican patterns that I will sow into the clock and the colors being used will be from the flag of Mozambique. 11. This clock can be for any age from 10 years old and above. 12. The tools needed would be a sowing kit, recycled materials. 13. It would take about four to five days to create my clock face design. 14. I would add post its to my clock for them writing notes.

II. Product Testing A. Using Google Forms, construct a survey form that you and your intended users will use to test if the product satisfies the Design Specification. (You will only use this survey during the Evaluate stage) 1. Provide the link to the survey form you created: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/189aAjlU8pFUkhq7BCU3ZOqcYFugAeJzMP0vR3epdUc/viewform 2. Provide the link to the Summary of Responses of your survey: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AkQ1tr92VtaTdFB6OUVhMFlNeXk3MDk2T0V4UTlWckE#gid=0 B. Discuss your answers to the following questions in 1 paragraph: 1. How did you use the Design Specification in your survey questions? 2. How will you distribute the survey? Who will answer your survey? How many people do you need to answer your survey? 3. How will you and your intended users test the product? How will you and your intended users check for technical errors in the design of the product? 4. How will you determine if your product successfully solved or addressed the problem/situation it was intended for? In my survey I would ask them if I had used the things that I had said I would use or I could ask them if it was good that I added this design to my clock face design. I would give the survey to my class mates and people who I think are disorganized so that I know that it was truly helpful for him/her. I would give at least ten people my survey. I myself forget to do thing so I will test my clock by using it myself and testing if it works. If it works for me than I can say that it works but if it doesnt, I would see what the problem is and fix it. For example: if they dont look at the clock because it is dull and they cant see it I would make it more colorful so it stands out. I would ask a disorganized person(my sister) and ask her if it does work and give me some feedback about it.
