1. How many hours per week is the student on site? Does the student keep you apprised of any variations in schedule? Erika is on site on average 35 hours per week. She is conscientous about keeping me apprised of any changes that need to be made.
2. To what extent is the student providing useful educational services (rather than observing or shadowing)? Erika actively participates in PPT and house meetings, has a counseling case load of 2-4 students, is available to counsel students (with needs within her skill level) on as on needed basis, develops and implements interventions, completes evaluations and participates in school-wide and district meetings and professional development activities.
3. Does the student inform you with sufficient lead time about MSPP-related assignments? Is it feasible and reasonable to complete these assignments in the field site? Erika possesses good communication skills and keeps me informed of her needs. From my understanding, she will be able to complete her assignments here in Hamden.
4. Please describe the students ability to relate effectively with staff, parents, and students/children. Erika possesses excellent interpersonal skills and has made a smooth transition in her relationships with the staff at HHS. Likewise, she demonstrates good skills working with staff and appears to be comfortable working with parents.
5. Please comment about the supervisory relationship and associated issues. Erika and I discussed this and we agree that both in terms of what the site has to offer, the ability to meet supervision support, and our working relationship that this is a positive setting.
6. Are there recent changes in your site that affect students training or supervision? Are any of the activities/experiences described in the students Field Placement Contract being modified? Please elaborate. No changes are expected to occur
7. Are there any problems or concerns regarding the student? Please elaborate. None whatsoever. Erika is a motivated, smart, insightful intern. She seems to possess both the personal qualities and understanding of the technical skills that will make an outstanding professional.
