Strengths: Huge of pool of labour force. High percentage of cultivable land. Diversified nature of economy. Availability of skilled manpower. Stable economy ,does not get affected by external change.

Extensive higher education system,3rd largest reservoir of engineers. High growth rate of economy.

Weakness: High Unemployment rate. Poor infrastructural facilities. Low productivity. Huge population leading to scarcity of resources. Low level of mechanization. Low literacy rate. Unequal distribution of wealth.

Opportunities: Scope for Entry of private firms in various sectors for business.

Investment in R&D ,Engineering design. Area of biotechnology.

Area of infrastructure.

Vast forest area & diverse wildlife.

Huge domestic market :Opportunity for MNCs for sales.

Threats: Global economy recession/slow down.

High fiscal deficit.

Threat of Government intervention in some sates. Volatility in crude oil prices across the world. Growing import bill.

Population Explosion. Agriculture excessively dependent on monsoons.
