1. Where did you get the ideas and materials for this unit plan? Include website names & URLs, book titles and authors. The main source of reference for ideas and materials for this unit plan came from the Houghton Mifflin 1st Grade Social Studies textbook School and Family. I also used the Montessori Research & Development Geography Manual 1. 2. What were the easiest and most challenging parts of writing this unit plan? Writing lesson plans are not so much challenging as they are time consuming. It almost seems as if I am rewriting the information in the margins of the textbook or the manual. I do find that thinking outside the box for authentic assessments to be the greatest challenge of any lesson and unit plan. 3. What suggestions do you have for yourself for the next time you write unit plans? I need to start earlier with my preparation and allow myself more time. I think this would help me be more creative in planning and assessing my students.
