2012 Summary Letter

Dear Praying Friends, Praise the Lord: Eight supporting churches and two supporting individuals Opportunities to witness Safety and provision Time spent with family and friends during Christmas In this letter, we wish to recount all the Lord has done in our lives this past year. As we look back on 2012, we praise the Lord of all the amazing things He has brought about in such a short period! During the first couple of months of 2012, we obtained a Brazilian visa for Mordecai. Nathan spent hours on the phone scheduling meetings. Our home church voted to become our first supporting church. We then went as a family for three weeks on a survey trip to southern Brazil. During this trip, the Lord confirmed in our hearts our burden for the Gaucho people. This trip also allowed us to research the current cost of living in Porto Alegre, Brazil. The greatest blessing was finding out that through Nathans permanent visa, Sarah and all our children will be able to get permanent visas before we leave for Brazil! In the spring, Nathan continued to contact pastors and schedule meetings. We had our first meeting on Easter Sunday. In May, Nathan quit his full-time employment to start full-time deputation, something we felt the Lord wanted us to do. We were in our first mission conference, and we saw a second church partner with us as we go to Brazil. The summer months were a great time of encouragement and sharing with more churches and family about our desire to serve the Lord through church planting amongst the Gaucho people. During June, July and the first half of August, we spent a total of seven weeks away from home. During that time, the Lord saw fit to add two more partnering churches. We participated in a churchs VBS by sharing with the children the need of spreading the gospel in Brazil. Nathan helped a church paint their Sunday school wing. On a family note, we celebrated Kais 1st birthday and found out that we are going to have a 2nd little Ring at the end of March 2013.

Pray for: Fruit from witnessing opportunities More churches to partner with us Safety and health while traveling Healthy pregnancy and delivery Wisdom in raising Kai Arrive in Brazil early 2014

As the fall came, we once again packed up our Buick for another 6,000 miles on the road. We were in another 15 churches and scheduled many meetings for 2013. The Lord provided much needed safety on the road! We replaced 3 tires before they blew out. We saw many fellow believers open their homes to us so we did not have to pay for long hotel stays. Once again, the Lord knit our hearts with believers all over the country, and three more churches partnered with us in prayer and in giving. We challenged the next generation with missions by sharing about Brazil in two Christian school chapel hours. Special to our family, Mordecai began walking this fall, and we found out the next little Ring will be another boy. According to many missionaries, the end of the year is generally hard to schedule meetings because of Thanksgiving and Christmas. Praise the Lord for June six meetings after Thanksgiving. We also found out that one more church has voted to partner with us in prayer and in giving. During the Christmas season, it was a delight to celebrate our Saviors birth with both sides of the family! The highlight of the month was the opportunity to share the gospel with two precious souls-- a tow truck driver and a catholic lady at the laundry mat. We would ask you to pray for both of them. Specifically pray for Chris, the catholic lady. She told Nathan that she had a void inside and that she believed God had allowed our paths to cross because she needed what we had. She listened to the Gospel, but did not accept Christ. She did promise to come to our home church. Please pray that the Lord will give us opportunity while we are home to follow up with her. Friends, God has been so good to us! We have shared our burden for Brazil in Maine, New Jersey, Mississippi, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Kentucky, South Carolina, and Texas. We have travelled around 25,000 miles since April, replaced one drive axle shaft and one hub assembly, and never went without a meal or bed to sleep in. God has protected us so many times in obvious ways and provided for our needs! We have seen eight churches and two individuals partner with our ministry. We continue to pray that the Lord will burden others to partner with us in the coming year! We are so excited to continue telling people we meet about our Lord and Savior! We also are looking forward to sharing about the needs in southern Brazil with the 30 churches we have scheduled for 2013 and the other churches we are seeking to schedule. Please pray with us that the Lord will allow us to be in Brazil early in 2014. We serve a great God and all things are possible through Him!!
