Workbook: Foundations in Personal Finance, by Dave Ramsey (This is purchased with the money given for the material fee for the fall semester.) Course Summary: I use the Dave Ramsey high school curriculum called Foundations in Personal Finance. It meets all 50 state standards and the national guidelines for personal finance literacy. Oklahoma requires 14 concepts of personal financial literacy to be covered for students graduating in May of 2014. This curriculum covers: credit card debt, saving money, interest, balancing a checkbook, understanding loans, earning an income, and working with a budget. In the public school system, they can be taught these things in small bits of information throughout their years in high school. This is a one year (two semester) course covering these 14 areas plus more. Homework and Test: The student will be required to do homework assignments outside of class that will take approximately 5 hours per week. Test will be taken home to be completed with supervision of a parent. The test will then be brought back to the next class time period
