Reflection & Evaluation

This year, in our very first lesson, we learned the ways of how to start drawing 1 and 2 point perspectives. Surrealism is something new to me, I found it a little bit tough but through all of those clear lessons and my thorough understanding, I understood a lot of interesting facts about surrealism and 1 or 2 point perspectives. I learned more about the vanishing point, the horizon line etc. We had to create 3 different Ideas using either 1 or 2 point perspective. 1 of my 3 ideas was a Justin Bieber World its just a fantastic idea for all of the huge Beliebers out there (including me & you, Ms.Jen ) I liked it and I believe I can do even better. More about surrealism I learned that surrealism is a cultural movement that began in the early 1920s and is best known for its visual works and writings. Surrealism has a huge and colorful meaning, Its a wonderful artistic world of Surrealism we have! I always think. I met a lot of artists whom are currently dead, they drew crazy and amazing its so artistic and bright! Especially Salvador Dali Im in love with his skills and his unbelievable imaginations! Moving on, we had to do a presentation about any artist wed like to present

about, I chose Frida Kahlo shes amazing, I love her skills as well, I presented about her life and how she started drawing surrealism. In the presentation I had to show my surrealism work (Justin Bieber World) I described what I had in mind and whats my goal till the end of the year in arts. In my sketchbook, you can clearly see my very first drawing of 1 and 2 point perspectives, my 3 ideas, my surrealism research, my homework and my class work. I honestly found it boring at first but when the teacher showed us videos and ideas, it cheered me up and I thought of doing my own creation of surrealism. My painting was horrible! When I went back home the first day, I searched about surrealism paintings, I tried painting like Salvador Dali and was so ready for the next lesson, I improved my paintings and I colored the Justin Bieber World background with a mix of colors that gave a nice view of the sky. In this unit, I used line, shape, color, tone and texture for the 1 and 2 point perspectives. Im so grateful and thankful for a wonderful teacher who helped me improve a lot, paint creative and know different techniques and ways to shade. Everyone makes mistakes in their first try, my painting was awful but at the end it turned out so good! I am so proud of myself and my hard

work, I learned to believe in myself and know that colors have meaning in this world. Thanks to Ms. Jen!
