IndoSAG INDONESIAN STUDENT ASSOCIATION IN GENT

LETTER OF MOTIVATION
We are Indonesian Student Association in Ghent University (Indosag) and hereby we would like to express our interest to register for recognition as a student organization in Ghent University. The Indonesia students association in Ghent University (IndoSAG) was initiated by some Indonesian students who studied in Ghent at the beginning of 1990s and officially established at 1998. We conducted some social activities and intensively interacted with Indonesian community, International student and Belgium student in Ghent. IndoSAG was also actively giving the information about Ghent University, scholarship available and guiding the prospective students who want to pursue their study in Ghent University. Moreover, the member of IndoSAG began to increase since the students who come to study at the Ghent University has increased as well. The events organized by IndoSAG also become more diverse and interested. One of those kinds of activities we called the Sound of Heritage (SOH) that was first time held on 2011. The SOH present the cultural diversity of Indonesian, tradisional and culinary festival that all performed by Indonesian student in Ghent. This event was get rave reviews from all visitors and got many attentions from students and also the community in Gent. It is very useful event in order to get more interaction between Indonesian students with Belgium and International students who studied in Ghent University. Based on the number of activities that we have done, we hope that Ghent University could accept our application to be recognized as a legitimate student organization at Ghent University. It's very important for IndoSAG. So then, as student organization, we can fully accommodate all of Indonesian student activities in Indonesia in Ghent, as well as alumnI, current students and also the prospective students. Furthermore, we hope that we can make some collaboration in term of education and sociocultural activities between IndoSAG and student organizations from other countries in Ghent University. Generally, we also expected that IndoSAG could be contributed in create of research and education collaboration between Indonesia and Ghent University.
