Online Speech Are students free? Well technology such as cellphones, texting emails, and Facebook has changed communication, online bullying has become a problem for some school. Can school be allowed to block and punish us on what we say through texting and online? Although there are some students who abuse technology and use it to bully others at schools, but schools should. Reasons include the idea that online bullying is not as widespread a problem as many believes, it is not abnormally to the classroom environments, and finally, limiting online speech violates students rights to speak freely as protected by the United States Constitution. One reason why schools should limit on line speech is because cyber bullying is a widespread problem that affects bot students and teachers. Third reason why schools should limit online speech is because it can affect education. A teacher tells a principal that one of his students stole his privacy and dignity, so he wont be able to teach correctly. One of his students probably tried to steal his privacy and dignity by making fun of him online, and the teacher tried to suspend the student but couldnt because it was off schools campus. There are some who will argue that schools should not limit students online speech. Reasons they may state include the ideas that online bullying is not as widespread as problems as many believe; it is not abnormally disruptive to the students rights to speak freely as protected by the United States Constitution.
