in a crisp and clesr style to enable the students understands the concepts and
solved problems
Unit [deals with the general concept and generalised measurement
system in which units and standards, measuring instruments, basic definition
of sensitivity, readability, range of accuracy, precision-statie but detail

calibration, interchangeability are shown,
dynamic response, systematic and random errots-correction,
Unit has ani depth dealing of linear measuring. instruments,
s applications, angular measurements and its instruments,
comparators with
and taper instru
Unit UT deals with the Measurement of screw, measurement of gears,
radius measurements, surface finish, straightness, flatness and roundness
measurements,
Precision instruments based on laser, laser interferometer, machine tool
metrology, coordinate measuring machine (CMM) and computer aided
inspection have been discussed in Unit LV
Measurements of force, torque, power, flow, temperature are treated
elaborately with good examples in Unit V.
Each unit has two mark questions and answers, and review questions
from examination question papers of various Universities,
