SAMBA Practical
Add the following users and assign them the smb password of kromer scott steve susan dave Install and configure SAMBA file sharing with the following; workgroup name = 4LNX2 netbios name = ITS<forth octet of your ip address> eg; ITS186 Create the following samba server shares; /var/samba/customers /var/samba/public /var/samba/data/temp Configure the following samba and Linux options Create a group called accountants Change the group ownership of all shares to accountants Change the customers and public shared folders permissions to inglude a setgid Change the permission of the temp folder to include a sticky bit Add scott and susan to the accountants group

Share permission table

Share customers public temp * = Everyone Allowed users accountants, dave scott, susan, dave * accountants Read only access scott * susan * Write access

Files written to all shares must be readable/writeable/deleteable by relevant users Ensure that the customers share can not be accessed by anyone on the system Files written to temp must be readable and writeable by anyone note the sticky bits Ensure that appropriate file system permissions are being used.
