STUDENT POPULATION

Student popula9on refers to the students who will be included in the SLO.
Course Number of students/sec9ons Roster(s) with names or student ID #
NOTE: Must start with largest course enrollment and work down un9l 50% of students are accounted for. EXAMPLE: All 27 students in my 2nd grade classroom for ELA. See a\ached roster. All 57 students in my 5th grade cohort in physical educa9on. See a\ached rosters.

The learning content iden9es which standards you will be using for your SLO.

INTERVAL OF INSTRUCTION

The interval of instruc9on is the amount of 9me from the pre-assessment to the summa9ve assessment.

EVIDENCE
COMPONENTS OF AN SLO

Evidence refers to the assessments you will be using to serve as your pre and summa9ve assessments.
List your pre-assessment. List your summa9ve assessment. Write the IEP statement. Write the scoring statement.

EXAMPLE: Pre Assessment: District-developed assessment for grade 2 ELA. Post Assessment: District-developed assessment for grade 2 ELA.

SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT
COMPONENTS OF AN SLO

Courses with a NYS assessment


If a course ends in a state assessment, including NYSED mandated assessments (3rd grade ELA/ math, NYSAA, etc.), it must be used as evidence for the summative assessment in the SLO.

Courses without a NYS assessment


If a course does not end in a state assessment, teachers will use district-developed post- assessments.

BASELINE
COMPONENTS OF AN SLO

The baseline is intended to help the teacher make an informed decision when sehng targets for students.

List pre-assessment AND descrip9on of how students performed on it. List addi9onal data that will contribute to your target-sehng process.

EXAMPLE: District-developed pre-assessment: In analyzing my students results I no9ced that 10 of my 20 students are performing below grade level. Their areas of weakness are most evident in reading comprehension.

TARGET
COMPONENTS OF AN SLO

The target is an academic achievement goal that ar9culates the amount that students will have to grow during the interval of instruc9onal 9me.
Write the goal statement A\ach class roster(s) EXAMPLE

84% of students will meet their individual targets on the district-developed post-assessment for grade 2 ELA. Individual Targets were determined using the following formula. 100-pretest/2 = growth Growth + pretest = target See a\ached roster.

HEDI criteria indicates the score a teacher will receive based on the percentage of students that meet their growth target.

Learning content, evidence and target Instruc9onal planning implica9ons College and career connec9ons NOTE: Learning content, evidence, and target were determined by the district.

Submission Process
SLO IMPLEMENTATION TIMELINE
Submit hard copy and aJached roster to STEP #1 your building principal no later than 10/16. Principals will review your SLOs and provide feedback by 11/1.

STEP #2

Revise SLOs based on feedback and STEP #3 resubmit by 11/8. (if necessary) Con.nue to work towards student targets. Progress monitor along the way.
