OBJECTIVES:
GENERAL OBJECTIVE:
For us, future nurses to be able to gather all the necessary and applicable knowledge, skills and attitude towards assessing and caring for patients who will experience Pleural Effusion and also to provide specific Health Teaching. For clients, to be familiarized of what are the complications may arise if the disease is left untreated, and the different aftercare procedures necessary to do when caring for someone with this disease.

CLIENT CENTERED :
Knowledge: 1.To define pleural effusion as well as on how as its acquired, factors, signs and symptoms. 2. To identify the complications that may arise if left untreated. 3.To state different treatments and managements that can be done to promote wellness. Skills: 1. To follow strictly follow therapeutic regimen for better improvement/recovery. 2. To show desire to learn different concepts about the disease. 3. To recognize one's abilities and limitations. Attitude: 1. To listen for and remember the teachings rendered to him/her. 2. To show the ability in coping stress regarding his condition.

3. To know the safety rules and practices them

STUDENT CENTERED:
Knowledge: 1.To use our critical thinking in assessing the patients condition and interpreting the cues and datas gathered with appropriate nursing care management. 2.To gather necessary information regarding the concept of Pleural Effusion. 3.To select necessary teaching plans to the client. Skills: 1.To apply the knowledge we obtained from our Related Learning Experience to an actual Hospital setting with an actual patient. 2.To prioritize appropriate nursing care plans applicable to the patients condition and render an effective nursing intervention. 3. To develop rapport with the patient and understand the condition he went through and shares some of the knowledge that we obtained from the Academe that will be beneficial to the patients general condition and promote wellness. Attitude: 1. To perform and maintain effective nurse-patient relationship. 2. To be able to appreciate the severity that this disease can cause to an individual. 3. To show therapeutic respect and empathy towards the client.
